UNBSJ Seawolves vs. Dragons de Sainte-Anne
ACAA - Men's Volleyball
January 27 at 4:00 p.m. AT & January 28 at 11:00 a.m. AT

Les Dragons de Sainte-Anne (8-2) have been atop the ACAA Standings all season but have shown some vulnerability in their past four matches. This weekend they host the fiery UNBSJ Seawolves (5-6) who may be a dark horse contender as upcoming Hosts of the ACAA Championships. Les Dragons are currently No. 10 in the CCAA but the Seawolves are only six points behind in the standings and were responsible for USTA’s first loss earlier this season.

Lynx d'Édouard-Montpetit vs. Élans de Garneau
RSEQ - Women's Volleyball
January 28 at 1:30 p.m. ET

This matchup could be an RSEQ Championship preview, as the first place Lynx d’Édouard-Montpetit (9-1) visit les Élans de Garneau (9-1). The teams are almost statistically identical but Édouard-Montpetit (CCAA No. 4) holds the slight edge, having defeated Garneau (CCAA No. 6) to close out 2023. Les Lynx have the added challenge of playing Lionel-Groulx on Friday, who are the only team to defeat É-M this season.

Conestoga Condors vs. St. Clair Saints
OCAA - Men's Volleyball
January 27 at 2:00 p.m. ET

The St. Clair Saints (12-3) and Conestoga Condors (11-3) each recently recorded hard-fought victories over perennial OCAA West contenders, the Fanshawe Falcons (10-5). The wins have elevated the teams to the top of the division standings as they prepare to now face each other. The Saints (CCAA No. 5) and Condors (CCAA No. 7) previously met in the season opener, which Conestoga claimed in five sets.

Assiniboine Community College Cougars
MCAC - Curling
CCAA Championships March 12-16

With the MCAC hosting a volleyball exhibition series this weekend it is a good time to highlight the Conference’s participation in another CCAA sport. From the ICYMI files, the Assiniboine Community College’s men’s and women’s curling teams will head to Fredericton, New Brunswick this spring to compete in the 2024 CCAA/Curling Canada Championships from March 12-16. ACC will be the first MCAC institution to represent the Conference at this collaborative championship.

RDP Queens vs. St. Mary's Lightning
ACAC - Women's Basketball
January 26 at 6:00 p.m. MT & January 27 at 6:00 p.m. MT

The Lakeland Rustlers (14-0) currently rule the North (and the CCAA Rankings) while the RDP Queens (13-1) hold court in the South. However, a contender for the Queens’ crown is making some noise, as the St. Mary’s Lightning (10-5) prepare to play a home and home with Red Deer. StMU were a .500 team at the end of November but a five match win streak has put them within striking distance of RDP (CCAA No. 6) with the season winding down.

VIU Mariners vs. COTR Avalanche
PACWEST - Men's Volleyball
January 26 at 8:00 p.m. PT & January 27 at 1:00 p.m. PT

It is rare to see two of the top three teams in the country compete outside of a National Championship, but volleyball fans are in for a treat in Cranbrook this weekend.  The CCAA’s No. 1 Ranked COTR Avalanche (12-2) welcome the No. 3 VIU Mariners (9-3) in an epic two match showdown. The Avalanche and Mariners haven’t squared off since the opening weekend of the season in Nanaimo, where they exchanged five-set victories.
