PACWEST Championship Hosted by Douglas Royals

The 2019 PACWEST Golf Championship, hosted by the Douglas Royals, begins on Friday at the University Golf Club in Vancouver. The tournament consists of three rounds with the top men’s golfers punching their ticket to the CCAA National Championships. Ranked No. 6 in the CCAA, the Camosun Chargers look to be the team favourites, having won the first two PACWEST tournaments.


ACAC Championships Hosted by Augustana Vikings

The ACAC Golf Championships will be hosted by the University of Alberta Augustana Vikings at Coal Creek Golf Resort this weekend. Heading into the championship, the Concordia Thunder lead the women’s team standings at 656 strokes, while the SAIT Trojans are first in men’s team standings with 1,193. Concordia is ranked No. 2 in the CCAA, while SAIT is currently fourth in the nation.

MCAC WOMEN'S SOCCER

Les Rouges de l’Université de Saite-Boniface (4-0-1) hosts the Providence University College Pilots (1-0-3) in a rematch of their early season bout. On the heels of a four-game win streak, Les Rouges have jumped out to an early lead in the MCAC Women’s Soccer standings, while the Pilots are coming off a couple of close losses. PUC forward Makayla Myer (4G) leads the league in scoring but USB’s Megan Kinsman (3G), Stéphanie Jones (2G) and Katie Moniot (2G) are right on her heels.


OCAA Championships Hosted by SLC Vikings

The OCAA Golf Championships begin Monday at the Cataraqui Golf and Country Club, one of Canada’s oldest, most prestigious golf courses. Hosted by St. Lawrence College in Kingston, the private golf course will play host to three conference championship rounds. Qualification for the CCAA National Championships seems wide open, with Humber, Fanshawe, Durham, Georgian and SLC all having strong invitational rounds this season in both the men’s and women’s competitions.


Élans de Garneau vs. Nomades de Montmorency

Les Nomades de Montmorency (3-0-1) are off to a strong start this season but they will be tested by Les Élans de Garneau (2-1-2), who are perennial contenders in the RSEQ. Les Nomades have made improvements over the past couple of seasons, while Garneau has finished first or second overall in the standings for over a decade. As for right now, Montmorency is ranked No. 5 in the CCAA, while Les Élans are on the outside looking in.


Holland Hurricanes vs. UKC Blue Devils

The ACAA’s last remaining undefeated teams will square off in Halifax this weekend. The Holland Hurricanes (3-0-1) and UKC Blue Devils (2-0-2) are ranked No. 7 and No. 14, respectively, in the CCAA and played to a 2-2 draw earlier in the season. The Hurricanes have an astounding 19 goals through four games, but they will face the Blue Devils strong back line, which has only given up five goals over that same stretch.


*NOTE: MCAC teams do not have access to CCAA National Championships until 2021-22.
