The Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) is proud to announce its Female Apprentice Coach Program (FACP) apprentices and mentors for the 2019-20 season. Eighteen apprentices representing all CCAA member conferences were selected this season. The increase in participation is due to the additional funding awarded to the CCAA in the area of Female mentorship.
“Sport Canada sees the importance of the CCAA Female Apprentice Coach Program in building capacity for all involved,” said Sandra Murray-MacDonell, CCAA Chief Executive Officer.
CCAA apprentices develop the skill set to coach as they become increasingly confident and competent, while mentor coaches are enhancing their leadership skills and advancing career development, according to Murray-MacDonell.
“The programs is developing future coaches that are bolstering both the CCAA and other levels of sport in the country,” she said.
