Paul Dailly of the Capilano Blues has been named the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association Men’s Soccer Coach of the Year.

Dailly received the award this evening during the CCAA All-Canadian Banquet at the 2016 CCAA Men’s Soccer National Championship, hosted by Keyano College in Fort McMurray, AB.

A season removed from a trip to the CCAA National Championship gold-medal game, Dailly guided the Blues to a 10-0-2 record and first-place finish in the PACWEST. The undefeated season comes on the heels of a 7-6-2 regular season in 2015.

“Paul has done an outstanding job in building Capilano into a serious contender at CCAA Nationals,” said CCAA Men’s Soccer Convenor David Munro. “His leadership helped nurture a belief and trust in his system that produced a cohesive team and an undefeated season in the tough PACWEST conference.”

Dailly’s main objective has been to lead the Blues program back to the winning tradition of the past. No CCAA Men's Soccer team has more gold medals (six) or overall medals (11) than Capilano.

The Blues achieved success this year as Dailly instilled the meaning of team into his student-athletes, who believe and support each other. The Capilano bench boss understood the team dynamics and built a system in which his players could work together for a common goal.

Dailly is also the Blues Summer Soccer Camps Director as well as the Head Coach and Instructor at the West Vancouver Soccer Academy. In addition, he offers free elementary coaching clinics to local youth community coaches each year.

CCAA Coach of the Year winners receive a customized ring provided by Jostens Canada, the Official Ring Supplier of the CCAA National Championship Awards Banquet.

Brady guided the Huskies to a first-place finish in the ACAC’s North Division with a 9-1 record. Keyano defended its ACAC title at provincials with a 2-0 victory over the SAIT Trojans in the gold-medal final. Brady had several outreach sessions where he took members of the team out in the local schools to promote the sport and an active lifestyle.		Mike Baraslievski led the Saints to a 7-1-2 record and first-place finish in the OCAA’s West Division. Education and getting his players to the highest level possible is the priority for Baraslievski, who has been the President of the Windsor FC Nationals Club team for the past 20 years. He also runs an indoor league from November to March.		Blin guided the young Dynamiques squad to an 8-1-1 record and first-place finish in the always competitive RSEQ. Sainte-Foy led the conference in goals for and allowed only five goals against all season. Blin’s goal is to develop student-athletes into individuals with healthy and educational values of sport.		Young led the much-improved Blue Devils to a second-place finish in the ACAA with a 7-4-1 record. He organizes indoor sessions and small sided play apart from practices to allow for more attention to the individuals. As the technical director for Halifax County United, Young organizes and runs numerous soccer clinics throughout the year.
