Humber Hawks – 2 vs. Keyano Huskies - 0
The Humber Hawks successfully defended the CCAA Men’s Soccer National Championship with a shutout win in over the host Keyano Huskies. In fact, the Hawks did not give up a single goal over the course of the national championship, having outscored their opponents 11-0 entering the final matchup at Shell Places’ SMS Equipment Stadium.
With a large crowd in attendance the hometown Huskies ended up behind the eight ball at the 26 minute mark when Francis Kailondo was given a red card. The Hawks had faced a similar situation last year when they played two men down in the gold medal game against the Capilano Blues. Despite this, the first half ended in a tie.
However three minutes into the second half, Jordan Piccinin finished off a scramble in front of the Huskie’s net with a goal for the Hawks. Kingsley Boasiako scored a header off of a corner kick at 74 minutes which made it 2-0 for the Hawks, more than enough to secure the gold medals.
The Huskies put up a strong challenge earning their silver medals, capping off an exciting week of CCAA soccer in in Fort McMurray Alberta.

Capilano Blues – 2 vs. Algonquin Thunder - 1
At the 2015 CCAA Men’s Soccer Championship the Capilano Blues earned silver while the Algonquin Thunder came away with bronze. At the 2016 edition only one team would come home with a medal as both the Blues and Thunder battled for bronze.
The Blues opened the scoring early off the foot of Kamyar Amini. The Blues added another at 22 minutes when Erdis Najm landed a half field lob onto the head of Keith Jackson for the score.
The Thunder responded before the end of the first half with a goal from Trevor Turner at the 41st minute. Countless saves by Thunder goalie Dylan Tessier kept his team within striking distance until Alex Asmis tied the game at 85 minutes.
The Blues responded quickly however with a well-crafted shot from Erdris Najm on a direct kick at the 88 minute mark. This proved to be the winner for Capilano, adding a bronze medal to their already impressive history of success at the CCAA National Championship.

Holland Hurricanes - 3 vs. Dynamiques de Sainte-Foy - 2
The Hurricanes’ James Mallard was flying high in this match with an impressive goal just three minutes in followed by a definitive header at 15 minutes.
Samuel Gilbert kept it close for the Dynamiques with a goal at six minutes but Parker MacRae gave the Hurricanes a two goal lead at the 58 minute mark. Alexandre Turcotte scored another for the Dynamiques on a beautiful header but the Hurricanes held on for the win.

Douglas Royals - 2 vs. SAIT Trojans - 1
The Royals’ Mateo Serka opened the scoring at 35 minutes following the set-up from Issac Kyei. The Trojans Daniel Schager tied the game at 39 minutes lobbing the ball in to the high right corner with a shot from just outside the penalty area.
A passing attempt from Kyei at 83 minutes found the foot of a Trojans defender for an own goal, leading to a victory for the Royals
