Pasquotti named CCAA Men’s Soccer Player of the Year

Nov. 10, 2015 – Nico Pasquotti of the Lethbridge Kodiaks has been named the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association Men’s Soccer Player of the Year.

He received the award this evening at the 2015 CCAA Men’s Soccer National Championship banquet, hosted by Champlain College in Saint-Lambert, QC.

Pasquotti led the Kodiaks to an 8-1-1 record in the ACAC with 19 goals in 10 games.

“Nico displayed his outstanding goal scoring ability all season for the Kodiaks,” said David Munro, the CCAA’s Mens’ Soccer Convenor. “To average almost two goals a game in the tough ACAC conference is an amazing accomplishment and Nico is truly deserving to be the CCAA Player of the Year.”

After a year absence from the Kodiaks, a season in which they won only two games, Pasquotti led Lethbridge to the top seed in the ACAC South Division.

Pasquotti developed into a leader this season and set an example for the younger Lethbridge players. He had a friendly scoring competition with teammate Peter Ntignee that resulted in a Kodiaks program record 47 goals.

Pasquotti, who suited up for Alberta in the Canada Summer Games, has also been a part of the Lethbridge FC AMSL soccer team for the past couple of years.

CCAA Player of the Year winners receive a customized ring provided by Jostens Canada, the Official Ring Supplier of the CCAA Championship Awards Banquet.

Other nominees for the award were Kristian Yli-Hietanen of the Capilano Blues, Brandon Mendes of the Fanshawe Falcons, Omar Kreim of the Nomades de Montmorency and Ibrahima Sanoh of the Holland Hurricanes.
