The CCAA selects Providence University College as host of the 2025 CCAA Men’s Volleyball Championship.

Cornwall ON – The Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) is pleased to announce that Providence University College will host the 2025 CCAA Men’s Volleyball National Championships in Niverville, located just 20 minutes south of Winnipeg. The Championship will take place at the new cutting-edge Niverville Community Resource & Recreation Centre. Marking a historic milestone as Providence becomes the first institution in Manitoba to host a CCAA Championship since rejoining the CCAA as an athletic Conference in 2019

“Manitoba, the Red River Valley, the town of Niverville and Providence University College are all ecstatic to host the CCAA in 2025 – bringing the best collegiate men’s volleyball teams from across the nation to southeastern Manitoba – to our neck of the woods! Manitobans are well-recognized for their generosity, friendliness and hospitality and we look forward to hosting an event of this magnitude, warmly welcoming the CCAA back to Manitoba!” says Russell Willms, Providence University College’s Athletic Director.

The Providence Pilots’ history includes participation in the National Invitational Volleyball Championship (NIVC) in the late 1990s, where they emerged as a powerhouse, securing multiple national titles. Their ambitions led them to the more competitive NIRSA Men’s Volleyball National Championships, where they claimed a significant national banner at the Division II level. After rejoining the Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference (MCAC) in 2009, the Pilots continued their success, winning MCAC banners and representing the conference at the CCAA Championships in Toronto in 2023.

Matthew Schnarr, CCAA Volleyball convenor, added, “Since the MCAC joined the CCAA in 2019, volleyball has been one of Manitoba’s flagship sports. The CCAA and the volleyball community are excited for Providence College and the town of Niverville to host this prestigious event. Throughout the bid process, Russell and his team enthusiastically shared their vision and passion for the event. Manitoba is known for its volleyball history, and we have no doubt they will host an exciting and elevated CCAA Men’s Volleyball Championship in 2025.”

The CCAA is excited to collaborate with Providence University College in hosting the 2025 CCAA Men’s Volleyball National Championship. The 2024 CCAA Men’s Volleyball National Championship will be hosted by Camosun College in Victoria March 6-10, 2024.
