Lakeland Rustlers up second straight CCAA National Championship
Red Deer, March 9, 2024 – The Lakeland College Rustlers have won gold for the second straight season at the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Women’s Volleyball National Championship.

Match 12 - Nordiques de Lionel-Groulx 3, Humber Hawks 1

The Nordiques de Lionel-Groulx have won bronze at 2024 CCAA Women’s Volleyball National Championship.

With a match-high 16 kills from Jade Genereux, the Nordiques defeated the Humber Hawks in four sets (25-21, 23-25, 25-20 and 25-17). Teammate Sandrine Methot contributed 10 kills, 10 digs and one of the Nordiques’ 10 service aces. Libero Camille Dufort recorded 15 digs and three assists for the Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec (RSEQ) Champions.

The Humber Hawks were led offensively by Te-Anna Stephenson (11 kills) and Keyome Ellis (10 kills). First-year setter Kennedy Williscroft had 34 assists and one of the Hawks’ four aces. Libero Reese Cholette picked up 24 digs for the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) Champions

Dufort was named the 4imprint Nordiques Player of the Match.

Ellis was recognized as the 4imprint Hawks Player of the Game.


Match 13 - Vancouver Island University (VIU) Mariners 0, Lakeland College Rustlers 3

The Lakeland College Rustlers have won back-to-back CCAA Women’s Volleyball National Championships.

With 10 kills from both Avery Bates and Lana Matthews, the Rustlers downed the VIU Mariners in three sets (25-21, 25-17 and 25-10). Setter Jana Laing contributed 29 assists, nine digs, one kill and two blocks for the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Champions.

Offensively, the VIU Mariners were led by Aimee Skinner (11 kills). Megan Duffy accumulated four kills and one assist for the Pacific Western Athletic Association (PACWEST) Champions. Setter Linnea Brickwood added 19 assists, three digs and one kill for VIU.

Laing received the 4imprint Rustlers Player of the Game.

Duffy was selected as the 4imprint Mariners Player of the Game.

Durham College will host the 2025 CCAA Women’s Volleyball National Championship from March 5-8.
