The Dragons took control of the first set, preventing the Avalanche from establishing any significant scoring runs. A heads-up assist from Ethan Aucoin, ACAA Rookie of the Year, secured the first set for the Dragons (25-15). In the second set, the Avalanche responded with greater fight and force. A triple block by the Avalanche's Jhet Bowen, Luke Margenau, and Diego Policarpo set the tone for a hard-fought third set. Just as the Dragons may run away with a four-point lead, thanks in part to Louis-Philippe Leblanc’s digs, the Avalanche rallied. The PACWEST team found holes in the Dragons’ coverage to nearly win the set, but a service error gave the Dragons a chance at a comeback, with the score now tied at 24. The third set came to a dramatic conclusion thanks to a block by the Avalanche’s Luke Margenau and Boston Thiessen (27-25). In the fourth set, the two teams matched one another’s grit, each tallying over 40 digs in the entire match. Despite the Dragons' taking the lead in the set, the Avalanche rebounded and secured the bronze medal with a kill by PACWEST Player of the Year, Diego Policarpo. Ethan Aucoin of the Université de Sainte-Anne Dragons and Noah Hadwen of the College of the Rockies Avalanche, a member of the PACWEST’s Men’s All-Rookie Team, were the 4imprint Players of the Match.
