Shannon Carson joins the CCAA as Manager, Programs & Events

 Shannon Carson has joined the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) national office staff as Manager, Programs & Events. With nearly a decade of progressive leadership in post-secondary athletics, student engagement, and academic support services, Carson brings a wealth of experience to her new role with the CCAA. 
 “Shannon’s extensive competencies will aid the Association in achieving its goals.” Since 2016, Carson has served multiple roles at St. Lawrence College in eastern Ontario bringing a thorough understanding of the post-secondary sector to her new position with the CCAA. As Athletics and Student Engagement Coordinator at SLC, Carson was responsible for varsity program operations and as Manager of Academic Advising, she led initiatives aimed at improving student retention and academic success across three campuses. Additionally, she has supported or administered event delivery and team participation within the OCAA and its Championships, provincial and national compliance with sport regulations, and served on the Ontario Collegiate Recreation (OCR) executive. “Shannon has a passion for sport, a deep understanding of the collegiate system, and a proven track record of managing large-scale programs and events that prioritize equity, excellence, and student success”, says Stone. “The CCAA is fortunate to add a valued person like Shannon to the team.”  |
