Tommies Upset ACAA Champions to Secure 7th Place at CCAA Nationals In a rematch of the ACAA playoffs, the STU Tommies took on the MSVU Mystics in the 7th place game at the CCAA Women’s Basketball Nationals. This time, the Tommies flipped the script, earning a 71-67 victory to close out their tournament run. STU came out strong, setting the tone early and taking the first quarter 19-12. They continued their momentum in the second, dropping 21 points to extend their lead to 40-25 at halftime. Katie Vidito and Kylee Roi led the way for the Tommies, helping them maintain control. MSVU responded in the third quarter, putting up 21 points, with Marley Curwin and Emma Garragan leading the charge in the second half. Geants de Saint-Jean Dominate Second Half to Advance to Bronze Medal Match
The Geants de Saint-Jean are moving on to the CCAA bronze medal match after a dominant second-half performance led them to an 81-59 victory over Mohawk.
Mohawk came out strong, taking the first quarter 27-24, and the game remained tight heading into halftime, all tied up. But Saint-Jean took control in the third, outscoring Mohawk 23-8 to build a commanding lead. They didn’t let up in the fourth, adding another 20 points to seal the win.
Kayla Couturier was a force for Saint-Jean, dropping 25 points to earn Player of the Game honors. Angong Jacob, who had been a key scorer for Mohawk throughout the tournament, was named Player of the Game for her team.

SAIT’s Explosive Fourth Quarter Secures Spot in Bronze Medal Match
In a back-and-forth battle, the SAIT Trojans stormed back in the fourth quarter to defeat VIU 82-71 and advance to the CCAA bronze medal match.
The game was tight from the start, with SAIT taking a narrow 18-17 lead after the first quarter. VIU responded with a big second quarter, scoring 25 points to grab a 42-36 lead at halftime.
SAIT turned up the intensity in the second half, led by Macy Mulholland, who was 7-for-9 from the field and earned Player of the Game honors. The Trojans dominated the final frame, dropping 30 points in the fourth to take control and seal the win.
