VIU set the tone early, jumping out to a 15-3 lead in the first minutes and maintaining control with a 39-30 advantage at halftime. MSVU responded with a strong third quarter, cutting into the deficit, but the Mariners stayed composed and pulled away down the stretch to secure the victory. Géants de Saint-Jean Hold Win 74-60 Géants de Saint-Jean started strong, weathered a massive third-quarter comeback by the STU Tommies, and finished strong to take a 74-60 win in Game 2 of Day 2 at the CCAA Women’s Basketball Nationals. The Géants dominated early, jumping out to an 18-3 lead in the first quarter and adding another 20 points in the second to hold a comfortable halftime advantage. The Tommies came alive in the third, exploding for 33 points in a dominant frame that put them right back in the game. Despite STU’s surge, Saint-Jean responded in the fourth, showing their poise and closing the game out to secure the win and advance to the bronze semifinal. St. Mary’s Lightning Edge Mohawk to Advance to CCAA National Final In a hard-fought battle, the St. Mary’s Lightning secured their spot in the CCAA Women’s Basketball National Championship Final with a 65-57 win over Mohawk College in Game 3 of Day 2.
The game was neck-and-neck from the start, with both teams locked at 14-14 after the first quarter. The Lightning gained momentum before halftime, taking a slight edge, but Mohawk responded in the third, putting up 17 points to keep the pressure on.
The fourth quarter saw intense back-and-forth action, but St. Mary’s stayed composed, making key plays down the stretch to clinch the win and move on to the championship game.

CBC Battles Past SAIT to Advance to CCAA National Championship Final In a thrilling showdown to close out Day 2, the CBC Bearcats held their ground in a tight battle to defeat the SAIT Trojans 63-55, securing their spot in the 2025 CCAA Women’s Basketball National Final.
CBC came out strong, winning the first quarter 20-11 and maintaining their lead at halftime 36-26. The Trojans responded with a 16-point third quarter, cutting into the deficit and setting up an intense final frame.
With the game tied in the closing minutes, CBC stepped up under pressure, making key plays down the stretch to seal the win and punch their ticket to the championship game.

The CBC Bearcats will now compete for the CCAA National Championship on Saturday, while SAIT moves to the bronze medal match.
