The Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) is thrilled to celebrate the remarkable career progression of Moïse Bombito, a 2019 alumnus of Ahuntsic College, who has recently been named to Team Canada and achieved a groundbreaking transfer to Ligue 1’s OGC Nice. Bombito’s journey is a shining example of how the CCAA develops top-tier talent. While at Ahuntsic College, Bombito showcased exceptional skill and determination, setting the stage for a career that would see him rise to international prominence. He was later selected third overall in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft by the Colorado Rapids, where his impact was immediate and profound. In just two seasons with the Rapids, Bombito became a defensive cornerstone, starting 17 matches in 2024 and scoring two goals. His standout performances earned him a call-up to Canada’s senior national team, where he played a pivotal role in their historic 2024 Copa América campaign. Starting in all six matches, Bombito’s defensive prowess and composure under pressure helped Canada reach the tournament's semifinals, cementing their place as a rising force in international soccer. “From his beginnings at Ahuntsic to representing Canada on the international stage and joining one of Europe’s top leagues, his journey inspires CCAA student-athletes across the country.” commented Brandon Stone, CCAA interim CEO.
