Limoilou to face Camosun after another exciting five set victory for the Hosts

Match 8 - Titans de Limoilou 3, Humber Hawks 2

Against expectations, the Host Titans de Limoilou advanced to the championship final after defeating Humber three sets to two.

The hot, home crowd added to the game's atmosphere with the two teams trading points early and often. Humber and Limoilou kept pace with each other until the score reached 18-18, at which point the Hawks pulled away to claim the first set 19-25. The second set started the same with the teams tied at 4-4 and 8-8, but Humber's 10 aces, compared to only one for Limoilou, was the difference and put the Hawks up 2-0 after two sets.

Facing a three set defeat, the Titans' aggressive attack started to pay off in the third. The Titans reduced their unforced errors and rallied to win the set 25-20. Humber and Limoilou then traded leads in a tension filled fourth set which the Titans eventually claimed by a score of 25-23.

Feeding off the energy and emotion of their fans, Limoilou came out firing in the fifth and deciding set to take an 8-6 lead. From that point on everyone in the gym was on their feet. CCAA All-Canadian Charles St-Aubin's two consecutive aces put Limoilou on the brink of victory. Xavier Desfossés then served the decisive attack of the match, leading to a 15-10 set victory for the Hosts.

The 4imprint Players of the Game weres Jacques Gomez for Humber and Christian Lafferty for Limoilou.

Match 7 - Camosun Chargers 3, St. Thomas Tommies 0

The Camosun Chargers advanced to the championship match following a three set victory over the St. Thomas Tommies (25-13, 25-21, 25-22).

Camosun delivered a controlled performance from start to finish and jumped out to an early lead in the first. A quick pace combined with few mistakes
secured the first set for the Chargers.

The Tommies responded in the next set by stepping up their defense at the net, leading to a 7-7 tie early in the second frame. The set was highlighted by a spectacular recovery from Brendan Folkert which seemed to give the Chargers some momentum. However the Tommies continued to battle until the end, taking risks to counter the physical strength of their opponents. STU rallied with a five point run before before the Chargers claimed the set 25-21.

The Tommies put up another strong effort in the third set but Camosun responded with a calm and confident strategy. A decisive attack from Vitor Pereira, secured the victory for the Chargers.

Several players contributed to Camosun's success but Eduardo Bida who was crowned the 4imprint Player of the Match while Adam McDougall earned the recognition for St. Thomas.

Match 6 - Red Deer Kings 3, Canadian Mennonite University Blazers 0

The Red Deer Kings avenged the previous day's loss by sweeping the CMU Blazers 3-0 (25-17, 25-11, 25-17). The Kings came out strong, setting the tone for the match. The Blazers struggled at times to find solutions in the face of their opponents' powerful offensive attack, led by Maddux Greves.

Both teams played well late into the third, but the Kings eventually pulled away to claim the match and advance in the Bronze medal bracket.

Red Deer's Brett Lower and CMU's Matthieu Page were named the 4imprint Players of the Match.

Match 5 - Redeemer Royals 3, Géants de Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu 0

Despite difficult defeats the day prior, the Royals and Géants battled each other with great intensity for the chance to play in the bronze semi-final.

Redeemer earned a narrow 25-22 victory in the first, but the second set proved to be even the most contentious. Saint-Jean traded points with Redeemer leading to a late 22-22 tie. The Royals then went up by two only to have the Géants respond with two poitns of their own. Caleb Joosse secured the set victory for Redeemer, with a strong attack after a great rally.

After two narrow victories, the Royals pulled away in the third to claim the set 25-16 and therefore the match. Joosse was selected as Redeemer's 4imprint Player of the Match while Arnaud Bouchard earned the distinction for Saint-Jean.
