The King's University will host the 2025 CCAA Badminton Championships

The King’s University, member of the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC), will host the 2025 Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Badminton National Championships, in Edmonton, Alberta, February 26 to March 1, 2025.

Grace Scott and Becky McCaffrey will serve as co-chairpersons for the CCAA Championships.

“The King’s University is excited about the opportunity to host a national championship on our campus, and to have our staff/faculty and students involved in welcoming student-athletes, coaches and spectators from across Canada to our university,” said Scott, Director of Athletics at TKU.

Located on the lands of the Amiskwaciy-washahikan, a gathering place and home for many Indigenous peoples past and present, and now part of the Treaty Six territory and the Métis homeland, The King’s University is very proud of its heritage, and the many degree programs it has to offer that will assist students in building a more sustainable and promising future.

The Eagles athletics program at King’s is an important part of this future as student-athletes and coaches are highly involved in the community through volunteering with numerous sport organizations, coaching and youth camps. Eagles Badminton athletes are not only involved in these community activities, but many have graduated to become future educators and coaches and have succeeded at bringing home a number of medals from CCAA Badminton Championships in the past few years including a bronze medal in Men’s Singles and two silver medals in Women’s Doubles.

The CCAA Badminton Championships will feature student-athletes from across Canada including: Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA), Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) as well as those in the ACAC.

The 2024 CCAA Badminton National Championships will be hosted by Seneca Polytechnic February 28 to March 2, 2024.
