Congratulations to Durham College, CCAA Community Service Award Recipient!

This year, Durham College proved that they are absolutely deserving of this award for they have established several community programs that have all positively benefitted Durham and its community.

Durham College varsity teams strive to be the best in athletics and academics having established themselves with championship calibre programs and high graduation rates. The teams have also made a strong commitment to the local community through involvement. The athletic department encourages community initiatives, providing a great experience for the athletes as well as lending a helping hand to the neighbourhood in which they live in.

The Durham College Athletic Department has established the LORDS CARE PROGRAM. The Lords Cares Community Service Program immerses Durham College student-athletes, coaches and staff members in the community. Participants are involved in various community projects; including the Lords School is Cool Program, the Get Healthy with the Lords campaign, Lords mini-game program, Sing with the Lords events, various fundraisers, and many more community events.

This year, the Lords have visited over 25 elementary schools, been to over a dozen community events and have hosted various community groups at over 60 home games. Durham College student-athletes are community leaders, making an impact in the community. Durham College athletes, coaches and staff believe in; "Do Something Great." Everyone involved with the program is passionate about that philosophy, embracing their responsibility as community role models.
