Running Room set to honour CCAA’s best

A new partnership with North America's largest chain of specialty running stores will outfit the CCAA's top competitors at the Cross-Country Running National Championships.

The top ten male and female runners will earn a CCAA All-Canadian jacket courtesy of Running Room at the CCAA Awards Banquet following the championship races. The 2018 prize will be the company's premium winter outerwear, the Men's and Women's Extreme Balaclava Jacket.

"The CCAA is very excited to enter into this new partnership with Running Room," said Joel Mrak, CCAA Vice-President of Marketing. "As a Canadian based, family owned company, Running Room is an ideal partner for the CCAA's running community."

The Running Room's philosophy is 'for runners by runners'. The Company's team members are runners, whose belief is that if you're out there running on the same roads as the customers, you can better relate to them.

Matt Norminton, Director of Purchasing and Logistics at the Running Room, can attest to this viewpoint as both an employee and as the current head coach of the Concordia Thunder's Cross-Country and Indoor Track teams. He was named the CCAA Coach of the Year in 2014.

"We are happy to be partnering with the CCAA on this initiative, it's always great to give back to the sport at the grass route level," he said.  "This is something that I believe in personally and we do as a company."

The CCAA All-Canadian Jackets are part of a three-year partnership with Running Room which includes the 2018, 2019, and 2020 Cross-Country Running National Championships.

Running Room will make its debut as a CCAA partner next week during the 2018 Cross-Country Running National Championships, hosted by Seneca College in Toronto, ON, from Nov. 9-10.
