2020 CCAA Volleyball Wildcards

2020 CCAA Volleyball Wildcards

Wildcard positions have been determined for the 2020 Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Men’s and Women’s Volleyball National Championships.

This season, wildcard spots in CCAA Women’s Volleyball will once again go to second-place teams from the Pacific Western Athletic Association (PACWEST) and Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC).

The 2020 CCAA Women’s Volleyball National Championship will be hosted by Cégep Garneau in Québec, QC, from March 11-14.

Last March, the wildcard Briercrest Clippers of the ACAC advanced to the bronze-medal game but were defeated by the Fanshawe Falcons of the OCAA.

Meanwhile, wildcard positions in CCAA Men’s Volleyball will be awarded to teams from the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) and the ACAC.

The 2020 CCAA Men’s Volleyball National Championship will be hosted by St. Thomas University in Fredericton, NB.

CCAA Men’s & Women’s Volleyball National Championships consist of eight teams: Five provincial champions, two wildcards and the host.

The wildcard positions are awarded to CCAA member conferences based on their performance at national championships over the past three years. Conferences awarded wildcard positions are eligible to send a second team to Nationals. A conference may not fill more than two spots at a CCAA national championship, which therefore excludes the host conference from being eligible for wildcards.
