Jajczay named CCAA Women’s Soccer Player of the Year

Kassy Jajczay has been named the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association Women’s Soccer Player of the Year.

Jajczay received the award this evening during the CCAA All-Canadian Banquet at the 2016 CCAA Women’s Soccer National Championship, hosted by Collège Ahuntsic in Montreal, QC.

The fourth-year striker led the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference with 16 goals. Her NAIT Ooks went undefeated (9-0-1) to finish first in the North Division.

“As a veteran at NAIT, Jajczay has developed into a team leader and she has a tremendous work ethic,” said Marlene Ford, CCAA Women’s Soccer Convenor.

The fourth-year striker/forward scored five game-winning goals for NAIT.

“Her commitment on the field has been exceptional,” said Carole Holt, the NAIT Ooks head coach. “Her teammates can depend on her in every game and we are very proud of all the incredible accomplishments she has achieved this season.”

Jajczay also plays club soccer for the Edmonton Victoria team that competes in the Alberta Major Soccer League.

Other nominees for the CCAA Player of the Year award were Andrea Perrotta of the Douglas Royals (PACWEST), Jade Kovacevic of the Fanshawe Falcons (OCAA), Marie-Mychèle Métivier of the Élans de Garneau (RSEQ) and Briar Roberts of the Holland Hurricanes (ACAA).

CCAA Player of the Year winners receive a customized ring provided by Jostens Canada, the Official Ring Supplier of the CCAA National Championship Awards Banquet.
