CCAA Basketball Wildcards for 2018

CCAA Basketball Wildcards for 2018

The Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association is proud to announce its basketball wildcards for this season.

Wildcard berths in Women’s Basketball will go to the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) and Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec (RSEQ).

The 2018 CCAA Women’s Basketball National Championship will be hosted by Mount Allison University in Sackville, NB, March 14-17.

Dawson, the RSEQ’s wildcard entry last season, earned a silver-medal at CCAA Nationals, hosted by Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) in Edmonton, AB.

Meanwhile, wildcard positions in Men’s Basketball will be awarded to teams from the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) and ACAC.

The 2018 CCAA Men’s Basketball National Championship will be hosted by Collège Montmorency in Laval, QC, March 14-17.

CCAA Men’s & Women’s Basketball National Championships consist of eight teams: Five provincial champions, two wildcards and the host.

The wildcard spots are awarded to CCAA member conferences based on their performance at National Championships over the past three years. Conferences awarded wildcard positions are eligible to send a second team to CCAA Nationals. A conference may not fill more than two spots at a CCAA National Championship, which excludes the host conference from being eligible for wildcards.
