Men's Bronze Medal Match will feature Sheridan and Capilano

MATCH 9: Sheridan Bruins 2, Langara Falcons 1 

In a spirited match to begin the day, the Sheridan Bruins and Langara Falcons battled for a spot in Saturday’s Bronze Medal Game.

After a scoreless opening half, the Bruins struck first, in the 47’, to take the 1-0 lead.

With time ticking away on the clock, the Falcons tied the match in the 77’ to knot the game at 1-1.

After getting into penalty trouble, the Bruins played with desperation in the final minutes of the game.  Ultimately they took the lead in the 90’ with only seven players left remaining on the field and held on for the victory.

With the win, the Bruins advance to the Bronze Medal Game on Saturday where they will take on the Capilano Blues.

The Player of the Game for the Bruins was Anthony Wright, while James Miller was recognized for the Falcons.

MATCH 10: Capilano Blues 4, NAIT Ooks 0

It was a strong 90-minute effort by the Capilano Blues as they took down the NAIT Ooks by a score of 4-0 to advance to the Bronze Medal Game.

A goal in the 43’ gave the Blues the lead entering the half.  After the break they were quick to tack on another, scoring in the 58’ to double their lead.  Insurance goals in the 81’ and 89’ helped push the Blues to victory.

With the win, the Capilano Blues will meet the Sheridan Bruins in Saturday’s Bronze Medal Game at 2pm at the Terry Fox Sports Complex in Cornwall, PEI.  This is a rematch of the first round game where the Bruins won 2-0.

The Player of the Game for the Blues in their victory over the Ooks was Zach Kaiser, while Jeremy Monn-Djasngar was chosen for NAIT for his strong performance in the game.
