The Host Boomerang d'André-Laurendeau Men's Golf team climbed into first place during the second round of the 2019 CCAA Golf National Championships, presented by PING.
Led by a strong performance from Frederic Rousseau, the orange and navy finished the first two rounds with a combined score of 598, three shots ahead of the Champlain St. Lawrence Lions. The Lions, who led after Day One are now second with a team score of 601, followed by the Humber Hawks at 606.
The men’s individual leaderboard is closely contested, with Guillaume Dubois of the Lions leading after back-to-back rounds of even-par. Not far behind are the Boomerang’s Olivier Ménard, Louis-Alexandre Jobin-Colgan of the Lions and Alex Cordero of the Camosun Chargers - all tied for second place at two-over par.
On the women's side, the Champlain St. Lawrence Lions remain firmly in the lead at six-over par with a second excellent round of 148. The Boomerang d'André-Laurendeau are currently in second at +26, while the Humber Hawks round out the top three at +38.
Élizabeth Labbé of the Lions rose to the top of the women’s individual leaderboard with even-par round of 72. She pulled ahead of 2018 CCAA Champion and Day One leader Emilie Romancew of the John Abbott Islanders by a single shot. Labbé’s teammate Anne-Sophie Bélanger is close behind in third at 6-over par.
