The Nanaimo Golf Club will play home to the PACWEST Championship over the Thanksgiving weekend. The Club is one of the best semi-private golf courses on Vancouver Island and is the home course of the host VIU Mariners. To close the regular season, the UFV Cascades Men’s Team secured a cumulative lead of 48 strokes over the UBC Okanagan Heat, while the VIU Mariners trailed the Heat by 18 strokes in the Women’s Team competition.


Olds Broncos vs. SAIT Trojans

The high-flying SAIT Trojans (7-0-0) will host the third-place Olds Broncos (4-3-1) in an ACAC South Division battle. After going six games without allowing a single goal, the Trojans (CCAA No. 3) gave up their first of the season last weekend in a 4-1 win over the Lethbridge Kodiaks. On the offensive side, SAIT has an astonishing 41 combined goals on the season, while Olds features the ACAC’s leading scorer in Felicia Rodney, who has 13 individual tallies.


Niagara Knights vs. Fanshawe Falcons

The OCAA West will feature a key matchup coming out of the Thanksgiving weekend, as the Niagara Knights (6-1-1) travel to face the Fanshawe Falcons (6-0-1). Fanshawe (CCAA No. 8) bested the Knights in an earlier matchup – Niagara’s only blemish on the season. While the Knights have a week off between games, the Falcons will travel to Mohawk before celebrating the long weekend.


RSEQ South-West Division Championship
RSEQ CROSS-COUNTRY

Les Nordiques de Lionel-Groulx are hosting the RSEQ’s South West Division Cross-Country Championship at the Blainville Equestrian Park – site of the 2017 CCAA National Championship. Les Nordiques are the top ranked women’s team in the CCAA and No. 13 in the men’s rankings. The top runners from this event will advance to run against the RSEQ’s North Division’s best in the RSEQ Conference Championships on Oct. 27.


MSVU Mystics vs. St. Thomas Tommies

The ACAA athletes are getting the long weekend off, with no regular season competitions on the schedule. If we look ahead though, the St. Thomas Tommies and MSVU Mystics are set to battle for women’s soccer supremacy. More on that matchup next week!
